The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 14th that it had identified and taken administrative actions and filed charges against two companies, Gyeongin CNC (Wanju-gun, Jeonbuk) and Naemomsarang (Gangseo-gu, Seoul), for illegally manufacturing and selling hydrogen peroxide for food use. Hydrogen peroxide is a food additive that must not be detected in the final product under the Food Sanitation Act. It should only be used as a food additive or disinfectant.
The Ministry also identified three YouTubers who falsely and exaggeratedly advertised this product as having therapeutic effects on rhinitis, diabetes, cancer, etc., deleted their videos, and filed charges. The YouTubers are 'NiceTV Seunghyuk', 'Doctor Gino's Hospital Escape with Functional Medicine', and 'Haneulmaeul TV'.
YouTube channel 'NiceTV Seunghyuk' was caught promoting illegal hydrogen peroxide products.

Gyeongin CNC made unfair advertisements on its website claiming that consuming 'CNC (Clean&care)' alleviates diseases such as hair loss, athlete's foot, and atopy. They also intentionally removed the labeling of the '35% hydrogen peroxide' product before selling it to Naemomsarang.
Naemomsarang purchased 20L of '35% hydrogen peroxide' from Gyeongin CNC, divided it into 60ml and 500ml containers, labeled the product as '35% hydrogen peroxide (for food additive use)', and sold it on the online shopping mall Coupang. During this process, they advertised the product as effective for disease prevention and treatment. They also did not file a business report for food repackaging.

Verification by private experts including doctors and professors revealed that even low concentrations of hydrogen peroxide are very dangerous to ingest directly. They warned that there is no medical evidence for antiviral, anti-inflammatory, or anticancer treatment effects, so it should not be consumed. They emphasized that not only the general public but also cancer patients could be at risk if they consume hydrogen peroxide, and urged people not to be misled by baseless advertisements claiming disease prevention or treatment effects.
