Hyundai Motor Group Provides Customized Support to COVID-19 Medical Staff... Delivering Lunchboxes and Red Ginseng Sets
[Asia Economy Reporter Su-yeon Woo] Hyundai Motor Group is continuously providing tailored support to medical staff who are working hard to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in collaboration with the National Disaster Relief Association.
Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 14th that starting from the 15th, it will deliver high-nutrition meal boxes to Daegu Medical Center and Keimyung University Daegu Dongsan Hospital, which are medical institutions focused on managing COVID-19 patients. Earlier, from the 11th, snack sets to help relieve the heat were also delivered. The meal boxes and snacks will be provided five days a week for up to three months and will be supplied not only to medical staff but also to administrative personnel and other on-site support workers.
Through the National Disaster Relief Association, Hyundai Motor Group identifies the difficulties faced on the medical frontlines and selects support items accordingly. After receiving feedback that on-site workers find it difficult to have proper meal times, they prepared high-nutrition meal box sets. Reflecting the recent rise in temperatures and the hardships of medical staff who must wear heavy equipment and protective suits, beverages and ice cream to relieve heat and thirst will also be provided.
In March, when confirmed cases increased in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, Hyundai Motor Group responded to concerns about the accumulated fatigue and health of frontline medical staff by providing red ginseng extract sets to 4,000 medical personnel at 11 hospitals and 26 public health centers in the area. Along with direct support to medical staff, they have also been supporting the medical field by providing facilities for residential treatment centers, free ambulance inspections, and blood donation campaigns.

In April, to support mild patients in the Gyeonggi region, the Kia Osan Education Center located in Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province, was additionally provided, and the Hyundai Paju Talent Development Center was also offered as a temporary residential facility for overseas arrivals (asymptomatic individuals).
The blood donation campaign by Hyundai-Kia Motor employees to overcome the crisis also continued. The group blood donation campaign, which began in early March at Hyundai Motor’s Ulsan plant, extended to the Asan plant, Jeonju plant, and the domestic business headquarters’ Yeongdong-daero office building. Kia Motors also conducted group blood donation campaigns at Hwaseong, Sohari, and Gwangju plants. To date, a total of 3,960 employees have participated in the blood donation campaign.
