Hankook Tire Nanum Foundation, 13 Organizations Finally Selected for Dream With Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Hankook Tire Sharing Foundation announced on the 14th the final selection of 13 organizations to participate in the '2020 Dream With Our Village Level-Up Project,' which supports community activities involving resident participation within local communities.
The 2020 Dream With Our Village Level-Up Project is a community activity support program that helps solve local social issues under the leadership of residents in the respective areas. Started in 2014, the 'Dream With' project is now in its 7th year and is jointly hosted by Hankook Tire Sharing Foundation and The JoongAng Ilbo's The Better Future, with Good Neighbors as the organizer.
In this year's 2020 project call, 378 organizations nationwide applied with innovative, community-based programs capable of leading healthy growth and change in local communities. Among them, 13 organizations were finally selected after evaluating the feasibility and expected effects of the programs, public interest, local customization validity, sustainability, and self-reliance.
Organizations planning activities to revitalize community economy by generating profits using local resources, categorized as 'profit-return type,' will receive up to 10 million KRW in activity funds. Organizations planning resident activities to solve local issues in education, arts, health, environment, etc., categorized as 'resident participation type,' will receive up to 7 million KRW. In addition to activity funds, on-site monitoring and expert advisory services will be provided, and some organizations' activities will be introduced through The JoongAng Ilbo's The Better Future.
The final selected organizations include 'Broccoli,' which develops vegan cosmetics using discarded agricultural products to solve local community problems and uses the profits to support the community again, and 'Iyoo,' a ride-sharing living lab aimed at solving mobility issues for people with developmental disabilities in the community. These organizations will carry out activities for about seven months from May to December 2020.
Hankook Tire conducts various social contribution activities to coexist with local communities. Through the 'Warm Social Housing Project,' it strives to resolve housing instability for vulnerable groups, and through mobility-reflective support projects such as vehicle sharing, tire sharing, and the Tium Bus, it supports social welfare institutions nationwide so that users of social welfare services can enjoy high-quality social welfare services.
