Gwangju Citizens and Social Organizations Federation Hold 17th Regular General Meeting
Oju Former Chairman of Gwangju City Council Elected as General Assembly President
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Citizens and Social Organizations Federation announced on the 14th that it held its 17th regular general meeting on the 13th.
The Gwangju Citizens and Social Organizations Federation is an umbrella organization consisting of 208 NGOs in Gwangju Metropolitan City.
This regular general meeting was held with only about 38 attendees, including the chairman of the general meeting, the representative chairman, and standing co-representatives (each organization’s representatives), without the participation of all member organizations as part of the COVID-19 social distancing campaign.
At this event, Lee Yong-seop, Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City, also attended and encouraged the development of the Gwangju Citizens and Social Organizations Federation.
The general meeting proceeded with last year’s business report, accounting, settlement, audit report, review of this year’s business plan and budget, and election of executives.
O Ju, former chairman of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Council and standing advisor of the organization, was appointed as the chairman of the general meeting, and Lee Jeong-jae and Yang Hoe-chang were reappointed as representative chairmen.
New representative chairmen Gu Je-gil and Lee Song-am were additionally appointed, and Kim Yong-bae was appointed as standing co-representative and secretary general.
Furthermore, in the increasingly diversified and complex global environment, it was resolved to amend the bylaws and expand the organization to creatively discover projects and activities that harmoniously unite the capabilities of each citizen and social organization and to enhance the status of advanced Gwangju in the world.
