Lotte Food Launches 'Lotsan Kkamtteu Ice Bar' with Whole Cookies Attached
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] Lotte Foods announced on the 12th that it will launch the ‘Lotsand Kkamtte Ice Bar,’ an ice bar made from Lotte Sand Kkamtte. The Kkamtte cookie is attached to the ice cream, and the blue packaging design has been applied as is.
The Kkamtte cookie, cookie crumbs (powder), and vanilla ice cream create a harmonious blend. The cookie matures together with the ice cream, making it soft rather than overly hard. The chocolate-flavored Kkamtte cookie is attached whole, allowing consumers to enjoy the texture of cookie sand ice cream and the convenience of an ice bar simultaneously.
Lotsand is a brand reborn last year after changing the name of Lotte Sand, Lotte Confectionery’s longest-running biscuit launched in 1978. There are three flavors: pineapple, white cream kkamtte, and pi?a colada, but the soft and sweet white cream kkamtte flavor was deemed most suitable for ice cream, leading to this collaborative product.

Since the end of last year, Lotte Foods has collaborated with Lotte Confectionery, the country’s top biscuit manufacturer, to create an ice bar with whole cookies attached. In 1985, Lotte Foods partnered with the U.S. Standard Candy Company to introduce the Gugu brand, originally a chocolate product, as ice cream. Recently, they have also launched various brands such as Milkis and Del Monte as ice cream, achieving good results.
