Trump "No Interest in Renegotiating Trade Deal with China... Watching Vaccine Hacking" (Summary)
"Not Happy with China"
[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] U.S. President Donald Trump emphasized that he is "not interested at all" in the possibility of renegotiating the trade agreement under terms favorable to China. He also expressed displeasure over reports that China is attempting to hack the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine being developed by the United States.
At a press conference held at the White House Rose Garden on the 11th (local time), President Trump responded to the question, "There are reports that China wants to resume trade negotiations under terms more favorable to China. Are you interested?" by saying, "Not at all. Not even a little. No interest."
President Trump criticized, "We signed an agreement. I have also heard that they (China) want to resume trade negotiations to make a better deal for themselves. China has been taking advantage of the United States for decades."
He added, "Let's see if they keep the agreement they signed." This means he intends to observe whether China will implement the Phase One U.S.-China trade agreement signed by both sides last January.
Regarding the question, "There are reports that China is hacking the COVID-19 vaccine being developed by the U.S.," President Trump said, "I am not happy with China. We will watch."
