Jeonnam Province Officials Lead in Emergency Disaster Relief Fund Donations and Kind Consumption
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam provincial government officials took the lead in overcoming the economic crisis caused by COVID-19 through generous donations and responsible consumption of the emergency disaster relief funds.
On the 11th, Jeonnam Province announced that 137 senior officials, including Governor Kim Young-rok, voluntarily decided to donate their emergency disaster relief funds.
At the same time, general employees pledged to lead the recovery of local commercial districts suffering from COVID-19 difficulties through responsible consumption.
This initiative of generous donations and responsible consumption was established to create a community atmosphere aimed at achieving two goals: reducing the financial burden of the government's disaster relief funds and overcoming the economic crisis through consumption promotion, which is the original purpose of the relief funds.
The province has recorded the lowest rate of confirmed COVID-19 cases nationwide by implementing bold and proactive quarantine measures one step ahead of the government.
Without complacency, it plans to focus all efforts on COVID-19 prevention, revitalizing the local economy, and supporting socially vulnerable groups.
In particular, to restore local commercial districts such as traditional markets, the province will continue the regular closure of in-house cafeterias, hold on-site meetings with local businesses by department, actively promote purchasing products from COVID-19 affected companies, and invigorate the local economy through advance payments and purchases of business promotion expenses, customized welfare expenses, and supplies.
