Roy Kim's agency, Stone Music Entertainment, stated on the 11th, "Roy Kim applied to the Marine Corps last March and recently received final acceptance notification from the Military Manpower Administration. He will enlist on June 15 at the Marine Corps Education and Training Unit located in Pohang, Gyeongbuk."
Previously, Roy Kim was investigated by the police for allegedly distributing obscene photos in a messenger group chat that included Jung Joon-young and Choi Jong-hoon in April last year, but he received a suspended indictment in February.
At that time, the agency said, "During the investigation, it was confirmed that in 2016, Roy Kim took a screenshot of an image from a portal site blog on his phone and shared it in a KakaoTalk chat room," adding, "Roy Kim deeply regrets and reflects on his careless action, as he was unaware that this act could constitute the crime of distributing obscene material regardless of intent."
