SK Rent-a-Car Expands Jeju Rental Car Brand 'Billika' with New Openings
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] SK Rent-a-Car announced on the 11th that it will renew and expand its Jeju rental car brand 'Billika' and hold an opening event.
Billika is SK Rent-a-Car's second brand launched in 2015 based on SK Rent-a-Car's system. It was created to segment market demand based on affordable rental fees and satisfy price-sensitive customers. While maintaining SK Rent-a-Car's level of service quality, vehicle management, cleaning, and accident handling, Billika applies a self-service system where users handle non-face-to-face reservations, payments, and rental procedures themselves, thereby lowering rental fees.
This renewal was carried out over four months since the beginning of this year following the integration of SK Rent-a-Car and AJ Rent-a-Car to enhance customer satisfaction. According to an SK Rent-a-Car official, the focus was on improving customer convenience, safety, and comfort, considering Billika's self-service nature.
For example, guidance routes and signage related to vehicle pickup and return were clearly distinguished by color to improve intuitiveness and convenience, securing visibility even at night. For customer safety, asphalt construction as well as speed bumps, crosswalks, and mirrors were installed. The customer waiting area was transformed into a stylish caf?-like space to provide customers with a relaxed and comfortable environment.
The existing Billika used part of the 3,200-pyeong AJ Rent-a-Car branch in Jeju, but the newly expanded Billika uses the entire 7,200-pyeong AJ Rent-a-Car site and offers a spacious area and a wider selection by adding some vehicle types such as electric cars and imported cars.
After a pilot operation following the renewal at the end of April, Billika received a favorable response with an average usage rate of 80% during the recent golden holiday period. To commemorate the Billika renewal and expansion opening, SK Rent-a-Car is running an event offering a 50% discount on collision damage waiver insurance fees for all vehicle types to all customers using Billika until the end of June.
