[Official] Webtoon 'Yumi's Cells' Confirmed for Drama Adaptation
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Seulgi Kim] The popular Naver webtoon 'Yumi's Cells' is being adapted into a drama.
On the 8th, Studio Dragon announced, "The popular Naver webtoon 'Yumi's Cells,' which has accumulated 3 billion views, has begun drama production."
A Studio Dragon representative said, "We plan to create a delightful reality-based drama that captures the charm of the original work, which distinguishes between the real world where Yumi lives and the world inside Yumi's mind where her cells live," adding, "'Yumi's Cells' is currently in the planning stage, aiming for a 2021 broadcast."
The drama 'Yumi's Cells' is based on the webtoon of the same name by writer Dong-geon Lee, serialized on Naver Webtoon. It is a relatable episodic story about Yumi, a woman in her 30s working in an office, told from the perspective of the cells inside Yumi's mind.

The drama 'Yumi's Cells' is planned by writer Jae-jung Song, who wrote MBC sitcom 'High Kick!' and tvN's 'Memories of the Alhambra,' along with Merika, and is co-produced by Studio Dragon and Studio N.
