National Geographic Q1 Revenue 51 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Total lifestyle brand National Geographic Apparel announced that its sales in the first quarter of this year increased by 55% compared to the same period last year, reaching approximately 51 billion KRW.
Following surpassing annual sales of 100 billion KRW within three years of the brand launch, last year's sales exceeded about 240 billion KRW. The annual sales target for this year is 310 billion KRW.
The best-selling product in the first quarter was the ‘Big Logo Buddy Packbag,’ with sales growth in the shoes and bags categories reaching 3.5 times compared to last year. In the second half of this year, the company plans to increase the sales proportion of key items such as shoes to 30%.
The company explained, "Despite the overall industry downturn, National Geographic Apparel's growth was mainly driven by differentiated marketing that embodies the brand philosophy of exploration spirit and coexistence with nature." They prioritize preserving National Geographic's 132-year historical value and spirit by avoiding camouflage patterns reminiscent of war and military uniforms and naming major products after endangered animal species.
