'2020 FameLab Korea' Online Competition Tomorrow
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Junho] The final round of the '2020 FameLab Korea,' a competition where participants present on science using their own props for 3 minutes, will be held at 2 PM on the 8th.
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 7th that to implement 'social distancing in daily life' due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the event will be conducted through the science culture website 'ScienceAll' and 'Naver TV-FameLab.'
FameLab Korea is a competition designed to help the general public, who may not be familiar with science, easily understand scientific concepts. A total of 10 participants will compete in this event.
Since this year’s competition is held online, a real-time audience voting system has been introduced. Audience voting will be available on ScienceAll from 2 PM to 4 PM on the day of the competition. Q&A will also be conducted via chat.
The grand prize winner of this competition will receive the Minister of Science and ICT Award. Additionally, the winner will have the privilege of representing Korea at the international FameLab competition held in the UK this October. The winners of the Excellence Award and the Merit Award will receive the Chairman’s Award from the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity and the Director of the British Council Korea Award, respectively, along with the opportunity to observe the international competition.
