On the same day, Jin shared an article titled "Park Soo-hyun Reveals Aftermath of Im Jong-seok's Non-Candidacy: 'Not Running in the General Election Is Enough'" on his Facebook, pointing out this issue.
The article Jin shared contains the content of a post titled "A Drop of Im Jong-seok's Blood" that Park Soo-hyun posted on her social network service (SNS) the previous day.
In the post, Park encouraged former Chief of Staff Im not to run in the general election and currently argued that he should actively engage in political activities.
In her SNS post, Park stated, "As someone who fully remembers the conversation I had with him that night, the phrase 'leaving institutional politics,' which could be interpreted as political retirement, sounded quite strange."
Both, who served as the first spokesperson and chief of staff under the Moon Jae-in administration, reportedly agreed on the need for a 'general election victory' for the government's success when they visited Busan last year due to President Moon's mother's passing. It is said that Park proposed non-candidacy to Im at that meeting.
Park said, "He listened to what could have been a shocking story very coolly," and relayed that Im responded, "Brother! Thank you. I also have something to consider, so I will think about it more seriously."
Afterward, Im declared his non-candidacy in the general election through SNS, stating, "I want to devote myself again to the unification movement."
Park said, "Because of his decision, the 586 generation and Blue House aides were able to relatively freely pursue their paths, and 19 Blue House aides were elected as members of the 21st National Assembly."
She continued, "I also ask former Chief of Staff Im to remember that the phrase 'leaving institutional politics' is not the content of the conversation we had that night." She added, "A single drop of blood donation called 'not running in the general election' is enough."
