View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) will deliver letters containing congratulatory messages and masks to recipients on each commemorative day, replacing the May Family Month events that were canceled due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
This mask distribution is designed to implement thorough prevention measures until the end of COVID-19, express gratitude to residents for participating in the 'social distancing' campaign, and encourage the practice of 'distancing in daily life' in line with the transition to a daily quarantine system.
Accordingly, the district will deliver a total of 605,000 masks along with letters on five commemorative dates: Children's Day (May 5), Parents' Day (May 8), Teachers' Day (May 15), Coming-of-Age Day (May 18), and Couples' Day (May 21).
First, on May 5, Children's Day, the district will distribute 3 masks per child to 6,300 children attending daycare centers in the area on May 4.
On Parents' Day, May 8, letters and 10 dental masks per person will be sent by mail to 50,244 elderly residents aged 65 and older, conveying gratitude and respect.
On Coming-of-Age Day, May 18, letters of congratulations and 3 masks per person will be mailed to 3,900 Gwangjin-gu residents who turn 19 as of April 28, 2020.
Additionally, on Teachers' Day (May 15) and Couples' Day (May 21), congratulatory video messages from the mayor will be broadcast on the district office website, social media platforms (YouTube, Naver TV), and IPTV on each commemorative day.
Along with this, card news using images and text will be produced and shared with residents through SNS, electronic billboards, electronic display boards, elevator video media in apartment complexes, and text messages to convey congratulations.
