"Mask Wearing Required on Public Transport and in Crowded Facilities Even Without Respiratory Symptoms" (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] On the 4th, health authorities recommended wearing masks on public transportation and in indoor multi-use facilities even if there are no respiratory symptoms.
Jung Eun-kyung, head of the Central Disease Control Headquarters, stated this during a regular briefing held at the Osong Disease Control Headquarters in Chungbuk on the same day, saying, "We have reinforced some parts of the mask guidelines after gathering public opinions."
Masks help block infection transmission through droplets. Therefore, it is advised to wear masks not only for those with respiratory symptoms or caring for suspected COVID-19 patients but also beyond the existing recommended groups.
