The PGA Championship was originally scheduled to be held at Harding Park for four days starting May 14. However, due to the impact of COVID-19, it was postponed to August 6. California Governor Gavin Newsom stated that large gatherings are unlikely before September but decided to open the golf course to the public under various safety guidelines. The PGA Tour was suspended after the first round of The Players Championship in March and will resume the 2019/2020 season with the Charles Schwab Challenge on June 11.
