At the End of March, 5.88 Million 5G Subscribers... 754 Users of 5G Budget Phones
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] The number of 5G mobile communication subscribers exceeded 5.8 million by the end of March, one year after commercialization.
According to the Ministry of Science and ICT's wireless communication service subscription statistics for March released on the 3rd, the number of 5G subscribers reached 5,881,177, an increase of 9.7% (524,78) from 5,360,699 subscribers in the previous month.
By telecom company, SK Telecom had 2,647,542 5G subscribers, accounting for 45% of the total. KT had 1,778,437 (30.2%), and LG Uplus had 1,454,444 (24.7%).
As of the end of March, the number of 5G MVNO subscribers was 754, more than double the previous month (318). However, the total number of MVNO subscribers decreased to 7,563,580 from 7,611,640 in the previous month, due to a decline in 2G and 3G MVNO subscribers.

Meanwhile, the total number of mobile communication subscribers in Korea was 69,154,363. Excluding other lines used for telecom companies' equipment management, the total number of subscribers was 68,209,706.
