Gangnam-gu Awards 120 Individuals Including Model Youth and Contributors to Development
In Celebration of Youth Month in May... Recommendations Through Schools and Child·Youth Organizations (Facilities) Until the 22nd
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) plans to receive recommendations for 120 individuals, including exemplary youth and those who have contributed to their protection and development, in celebration of Youth Month in May, and will award them accordingly.
The district will select and award a total of 100 students from elementary, middle, and high schools within the area in two categories: exemplary and volunteer. Additionally, 20 distinguished leaders who have made significant contributions in areas such as ▲supporting youth capacity development ▲establishing youth safety nets ▲creating a healthy growth environment will be recognized.
Recommendations can be submitted through each school and child and youth organizations (facilities) by the 22nd of this month. After a merit review in June, awards will be presented to the respective school principals and organization heads.
Every May, the district honors youth and contributors who serve as role models through their proactive attitudes and volunteer spirit. Last year, a total of 94 individuals received awards.

Oh Seon-mi, Director of the Women and Family Division, stated, “Despite the challenging circumstances due to COVID-19, we aim to discover and encourage exemplary youth and youth leaders in Gangnam-gu by category.” She added, “We ask for continued interest from residents in youth development and capacity building.”
