The Icheon Fire Investigation Headquarters of the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency is questioning representatives from the construction company, Geonwoo Co., Ltd., and other related contractors on the 2nd. They are verifying if safety management measures, such as the deployment of safety managers at the site during the fire, were properly enforced. The police have recently completed investigations of 28 individuals, including six construction company officials and 11 witnesses. The subjects of today's investigation are 15 key figures who have recently been placed under travel restrictions.
Earlier, the police conducted raids on Han Express Co., Ltd., the building owner, Geonwoo, the construction company, as well as the supervision and design firms. They are currently analyzing construction-related documents, including design blueprints, to check for any violations. No on-site investigation to determine the cause of the fire was conducted today. However, a detailed search continues to recover some of the victims' remains and personal belongings that have not yet been retrieved.
