Gyeongnam National University Selected as 'Top University' in 2019 Industry Perspective University Evaluation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Gyeongnam National University recently announced on the 1st that it was selected as an 'Outstanding University' in the '2019 Industry Perspective University Evaluation' conducted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Council for University Education.
The 'Industry Perspective University Evaluation' is a project aimed at nurturing talent to lead future industries by proposing curricula required by the industry, and universities achieve this goal by improving their curricula accordingly.
This evaluation involved employees from 22 companies including POSCO, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, LG Display, Pulmuone, and Nongshim, as well as university evaluation experts. The survey included 1,105 department heads from companies and graduates and current students from participating departments.

The evaluation was conducted on 88 departments from 62 universities that wished to participate, among universities with departments related to three fields: new materials (metal and ceramic), media, and food. Gyeongnam National University produced the 'Outstanding Department' in all three fields. In this evaluation, Gyeongnam National University's Department of Nano New Materials Engineering, Department of Media Communication, and Department of Food and Nutrition were each selected as 'Outstanding Departments.'
