[Asia Economy Reporter Haeyoung Kwon] Yoon Jong-won, President of IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, participated in a relay campaign to support flower farmers struggling due to the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
On the 2nd, President Yoon stated through social networking services (SNS), "I have joined the 'Flower Bucket Challenge' to support flower farmers," and expressed gratitude to Moon Sung-yu, President of Korea Asset Management Corporation, who sent him beautiful freesia flowers.
He said, "In mid-March, to support flower farmers and florists deeply distressed by reduced flower consumption, I purchased 200 million won worth of flowers and held an event to give them to branch customers," adding, "I hope this campaign will provide even a little strength to these people."
The Flower Bucket Challenge is a relay campaign conducted to help flower farmers whose sales have plummeted due to the cancellation or reduction of various events and gatherings such as graduation and entrance ceremonies amid the spread of COVID-19. President Yoon joined the campaign upon the recommendation of Moon Sung-yu, President of KAMCO. As the next participants, President Yoon recommended Lee Bang-hee, CEO of Samick Furniture (Chairman of the IBK CEO Club), and Kang Kyung-hee, CEO of Gwangjin Chemical (Chairwoman of the IBK Women Entrepreneurs Club), both IBK client companies, sending flowers and requesting their participation in the campaign.
