Hwasun-gun, 50% Reduction in Water and Sewage Charges
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 31st that it will implement reductions in water and sewage fees to revitalize the stagnant local economy.
The county decided to reduce fees to stimulate consumption and share the burden in response to the prolonged economic downturn caused by COVID-19.
In addition, the reduction targets will be expanded not only to general users such as self-employed and small business owners who are experiencing severe operational difficulties but also to household users.
Household users, general users (excluding schools), and bathhouse users are eligible for the reduction, as well as six large-scale industrial users and all users except school facilities.
A total of 15,566 water supply accounts and 6,294 sewage accounts are eligible, and 50% of the fees billed for April and May will be reduced.
The county expects the reduction benefits to amount to approximately 500 million won.
