LS Chairman Koo Ja-yeol's Compensation Last Year 5.2 Billion Won... LS ELECTRIC Chairman Koo Ja-gyun 4 Billion Won
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Koo Ja-yeol, chairman of LS Group, received 5.252 billion KRW in compensation last year.
LS announced in its business report disclosed on the 30th that Chairman Koo Ja-gyun received a total of 5.252 billion KRW, including 2.434 billion KRW in salary and 2.817 billion KRW in bonuses.
This amount is a 52% increase compared to the 3.448 billion KRW compensation Koo Ja-yeol received in 2018. LS explained the basis for this calculation by stating, "He contributed to the group's development by promoting global business strategies and demonstrated leadership fulfilling social responsibilities."
Koo Ja-gyun, chairman of LS ELECTRIC (formerly LS Industrial Systems) and younger brother of Koo Ja-yeol, received a total annual salary of 4.037 billion KRW last year, including 2.324 billion KRW in salary, 1.706 billion KRW in bonuses, and 7 million KRW in other labor income (welfare benefits), according to LS ELECTRIC's disclosure.
Koo Ja-gyun's bonuses nearly tripled compared to 620 million KRW in 2018, resulting in an overall annual salary increase of about 46%. His total compensation in 2018 was 2.757 billion KRW.
Regarding the basis for calculating Koo Ja-gyun's bonuses, LS ELECTRIC explained, "We considered his efforts to strengthen global market competitiveness and DT technology capabilities amid challenging business environments, laying the foundation for future growth."

At LS, Vice Chairman Lee Kwang-woo received 1.883 billion KRW in compensation last year, and Executive Vice President Ahn Won-hyung received 592 million KRW, following Chairman Koo Ja-yeol. Additionally, at LS ELECTRIC, Executive Vice President Nam Ki-won received 583 million KRW, and Managing Director Shin Young-sik received 530 million KRW in compensation.
