Daejeon City Provides Support Funds to Karaoke Rooms and PC Rooms with Temporary Business Suspension
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City will provide financial support to multi-use facilities that have temporarily suspended operations to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
On the 27th, the city announced that it will provide 500,000 KRW each to local karaoke rooms, PC rooms, indoor sports facilities such as martial arts academies, dojangs, fitness centers, and sports dojangs that suspend operations from the 30th of this month to the 5th of next month.
The support targets include approximately 1,400 karaoke rooms, 900 PC rooms, and 800 indoor sports facilities.
Eligible businesses can submit their application forms along with their business registration certificates to the relevant district office between the 6th and 17th of next month. The district offices plan to provide the support funds after a simple document review.

A city official stated, “We will continue to strongly recommend that high-risk group infection facilities suspend operations until the 5th of next month. If operation is unavoidable, failure to comply with the required measures will result in a fine of 3 million KRW imposed through administrative orders.”
