KCC "Gyeonggi Broadcasting to Suspend Broadcast from the 30th"
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] The Korea Communications Commission announced that Gyeonggi Broadcasting's broadcast will be suspended starting from the 30th.
On the 26th, the KCC requested Gyeonggi Broadcasting to maintain its broadcast until a new operator is selected, but due to insufficient legal grounds and Gyeonggi Broadcasting's passive stance on maintaining the broadcast, the broadcast will be suspended without a maintenance period.
The KCC plans to promote amendments to the Broadcasting Act, including procedures for abolishing broadcasting businesses and measures to protect listeners' rights, to prevent similar cases from occurring. Gyeonggi Broadcasting is a comprehensive programming radio operator in the Gyeonggi region. At the end of last year, the KCC approved a conditional re-licensing with a validity period of four years for Gyeonggi Broadcasting, citing the need to protect the listening rights of local listeners.
