Nuclear CEOs Put Heads Together to "Overcome COVID-19"
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), CEOs of public nuclear institutions gathered to discuss as partner small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and local communities suffered damage.
On the 25th, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) announced that it held a 'Meeting of Representatives of Nuclear-Related Organizations for Win-Win and Communication.' The meeting was conducted by connecting three regions?Seoul, Daejeon, and Gyeongju?via video conference.
The meeting was attended by KHNP President Jeong Jae-hoon and executives from 12 organizations including Korea Electric Power Technology, KEPCO KPS, KEPCO KDN, KEPCO Nuclear Fuel, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, Susan Industry, and national research institutes.
The participants reviewed each organization's performance and plans regarding mutual growth, regional coexistence, and communication cooperation.
They focused on discussing support measures for partner SMEs and local communities affected by COVID-19.
KHNP and nuclear-related organizations expressed concern about the severity of COVID-19 damage across the economy and industry sectors.
As an emergency measure to prevent further damage, they provided about 100,000 masks, 10,000 hand sanitizers, and donations totaling approximately 1 billion KRW to partner SMEs and local communities.
They agreed to continuously expand support to minimize damage to small and medium-sized business owners and local economies going forward.
