Emart Launches April National Price Big Sale... "Selling Chamgulbi at Prices from 10 Years Ago"
3 Weeks from March 26 to April 15
Three-Color Events Including National Price, Daily Surprise, and 1+1
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Emart announced on the 25th that it will hold a large-scale discount event on daily necessities, including 'National Price' products, for three weeks from the 26th of this month to the 15th of next month.
The discount event is divided into three main categories. These include ‘National Price’ items such as dried yellow corvina at 590 won, which is the price from 10 years ago; ‘Daily Surprise’ discounts such as 30% off Hoengseong Hanwoo beef and 20% off native chicken; and ‘Special Prices for Four Days from Thursday to Sunday’ including 1+1 deals on diapers, kitchen detergents, and all Oral-B toothbrushes.
The main event is the 'April National Price'. Customers can receive an additional 10% discount when purchasing National Price products with a KB Kookmin Card. For fresh food items, the event runs for one week from the 26th to the 1st of next month, while non-fresh products are discounted for the entire month from the 26th to the 29th of next month.
First, domestic dried yellow corvina is sold at 590 won per fish (approximately 55g). This product, previously sold at the regular price of 1,480 won, is planned to be about 60% cheaper. Among imported chilled meats, Prime chuck eye roll and Choice top blade beef are sold at 1,880 won and 1,680 won per 100g, respectively. Domestic abalone is priced about 20% lower at 11,800 won for four pieces.
Next, among non-fresh National Price products, 'Persil Hygienic 2.7L' laundry detergent is discounted by about 60% to 8,900 won, and '2080 Jinji Ballis' toothpaste is sold as a 3-pack 1+1 deal for 5,900 won. A 10-pack of Chilsung Cider is sold for 6,980 won.
The 'Daily Surprise Special Prices' that should not be missed are also abundant. From the 26th to the 29th, discounts on specific items will be held for one, two, or four days during Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. These include pork belly, wheel lobster, oranges, domestic native chicken, squid, and Days men's underwear. 1+1 products are also prepared during the same period.
Emart is holding this large-scale daily necessities event in April because the number of ‘homebodies’ who eat at home has greatly increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, sales of major product categories from February 19 to March 23 showed increases of 9.5% for Hanwoo beef, 28.9% for rice, 33.5% for eggs, and 18.9% for seasonings.
Additionally, to support children who cannot go outside despite the arrival of spring, an 'Indoor Sports for the Whole Family' event has been prepared. The 'Dad is the Goalkeeper Set' includes a soccer ball and goalpost sold as a set for 21,200 won, Everlast tap ball is sold for 7,920 won, and the Ricata long putting mat is priced at 39,000 won.
