Gokseong-gun Offers Half-Price Agricultural Machinery Rentals from April to July
Hope to Help Overcome Farmers' Difficulties Due to COVID-19
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 24th that it will reduce agricultural machinery rental fees by 50% to support farmers struggling due to COVID-19.
There have been daily reports on the difficulties faced by merchants due to the COVID-19 crisis. However, COVID-19 is also casting a significant shadow over agriculture. Timing is crucial in farming.
However, the rural labor shortage has worsened due to COVID-19, making timely farming activities difficult. This directly affects agricultural production. Additionally, with consumer sentiment freezing, poor sales are directly impacting farmers' incomes.
Accordingly, Gokseong-gun decided to reduce agricultural machinery rental fees by 50% to ease the burden of farming activity costs. Initially, the reduction will apply temporarily from April 1 to July 31 for 208 units of 78 types of rental agricultural machinery owned by Gokseong-gun.
However, depending on the progression of the crisis caused by COVID-19, the reduction period may be shortened or extended further.
