[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yuk-bong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) took immediate action including thorough disinfection and specimen testing of direct and indirect contacts following the confirmation of the 29th COVID-19 case (Yongin-29) diagnosed on the 21st in Yongin City.
According to the city on the 23rd, the Yongin-29 confirmed patient (49) is the spouse of the 27th confirmed patient and reportedly showed symptoms such as cough and sore throat after returning from a business trip to the Philippines from the 11th to the 14th.
On the afternoon of the 22nd, after tracing the patient's movements through epidemiological analysis, the city conducted disinfection inside and outside the hotel, Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), and restaurant visited by the confirmed patient, as well as specimen testing of employees at those facilities.
So far, all contacts who underwent specimen testing have been confirmed 'negative' and are under self-quarantine for two weeks from the date of contact.
Efforts are also focused on epidemiological investigations to identify any additional contacts.
