Won Yu-cheol "Proportional Representation List to Be Finalized Tomorrow... Looking for Good Candidates Related to Integration"
[Asia Economy Reporters Lee Ji-eun and Kim Hye-min] The Future Korea Party is expected to finalize its proportional representation candidate list by tomorrow. A large-scale reshuffle is anticipated from the existing list, with plans to include many individuals who played a role in conservative unification.
On the 22nd, Representative Won held a press conference at the Yeongdeungpo party office in Seoul and stated, "We are working tirelessly every day to find good people related to conservative unification for the victory in the April 15 general election."
Starting at 2 p.m. today, the Public Official Recommendation Committee (Gonggwanwi) will begin its review, followed by a voter group vote at 5 p.m. on the 23rd. The proportional representation list is scheduled to be finalized through the Supreme Council at 6 p.m.
Representative Won said, "Chairman Bae Gyu-han and the committee members have been working late into the night since the committee was formed. First, to recommend candidates that the public favors, and second, to find candidates who can block the total failures of the Moon administration in livelihood, economy, diplomacy, and security, and propose alternatives. We are making relentless efforts."
With a significant reshuffle of the proportional representation list expected, there is a possibility that many individuals who played a role in the unification process will be included. The statement "we are looking for good people related to conservative unification" is also interpreted in this context. Regarding this, Representative Won refrained from elaborating, saying, "I am making a principled statement." When asked about including lawyer Yoo Young-ha on the proportional list, he said, "That is not a position for me to comment on."
Regarding whether recruitment talents from the United Future Party will be included, he said, "The Public Official Recommendation Committee worked very late yesterday, but I have not heard specific details about the content."
In response to a reporter's comment that three days is too short to review all 500 candidates, Representative Won said, "There is a part that was reviewed by the previous committee, and some committee members who participated in that and our secretariat staff are present, so we have a database that allows us to proceed with the review quickly. We are not facing significant difficulties."

If a new list is released, there is a possibility of backlash from existing candidates in the winning zone. Former committee member Gong Byung-ho even predicted a "series of lawsuits." Regarding these concerns, Representative Won said, "Nothing has been finalized yet, and the process is ongoing," refraining from further comment.
