Yongin City Population Surpasses 1.08 Million
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The population of Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province, has surpassed 1.08 million.
Yongin City announced on the 20th that as of the end of February, the total population was counted at 1,082,737, including 1,063,650 Koreans and 19,087 foreigners. This is an increase of 4,146 people compared to the total population of 1,078,591 at the end of last year.
The city analyzed that the population is expected to increase as residents continue to move into medium and large complexes such as Jung-dong Spring County Jaina in Giheung-gu, and Gwanggyosan I-Park in Suji-gu.
By eup, myeon, and dong, Jukjeon 1-dong recorded 58,494 people, ranking first. It was followed by Seongbok-dong (49,452), Sanghyeon 1-dong (49,210), and Dongcheon-dong (46,667).
The registered foreign population is 10,688 in Cheoin-gu, 5,221 in Giheung-gu, and 3,178 in Suji-gu.
