[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○…The Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour has been hampered by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
On the 19th, the KLPGA Tour announced, "We are canceling the Lotte Rent-a-Car Ladies Open and Nexen Saintnine Masters scheduled for April." Following the cancellation of the Taiwan Ladies Open in March and the Celltrion Queens Masters in April, a total of four tournaments have been called off. The Lotte Rent-a-Car Ladies Open was set to be the 2020 season's domestic opener, held from April 9 at Lotte Skyhill Golf Club in Seogwipo, Jeju Island. The Nexen Saintnine Masters, planned as the third tournament in April, was also removed from the season schedule due to COVID-19.

The next tournament is the Chris F&C 42nd KLPGA Championship, opening on April 30 at Lakewood Golf Club in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province. With a total prize money of 1 billion KRW, it is the season's first major, and the defending champion is Choi Hye-jin (21, Lotte). The KLPGA Tour stated, "In response to the rapidly changing nationwide crisis, we will continue to cooperate with the government, local governments, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other related organizations," adding, "We will establish a systematic system to ensure that tournaments are held normally."
