Integrated Union Urges Local Governments and School Authorities to Cooperate in Preventing School Cluster Infections
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Integrated Labor Union issued a statement on the 19th, urging local governments and school authorities nationwide to cooperate and “thoroughly prepare in advance to prevent cluster infections at schools during the postponed school opening period.”
The National Integrated Public Officials Labor Union (Chairman Lee Chung-jae) stated in the announcement, “Parents’ concerns are about the risk of cluster infections at schools,” and urged that “measures be taken in advance to ensure confidence in the health and safety of students when schools reopen.”
They also emphasized that “to thoroughly prevent infectious disease outbreaks at schools, the efforts of the education authorities alone are insufficient,” and “participation and cooperation from local governments are essential.”
