Cheongdo Senior Nursing Hospital 80s 'Posthumous Confirmation' Diagnosis... Total 92 Deaths in Korea
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] An man in his 80s who was hospitalized at Cheongdo County Senior Nursing Hospital in Gyeongbuk died and was later confirmed positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). With this, the number of COVID-19 deaths in Gyeongbuk has risen to 26, and the total number of deaths nationwide has increased to 92.
On the 19th, Gyeongbuk Province announced that at around 2:35 a.m. the previous day, Mr. A (81) passed away due to pneumonia symptoms at Cheongdo County Senior Nursing Hospital. Mr. A had underlying conditions including bile duct cancer, pneumonia, dementia, and hypertension.
It is known that Mr. A showed fever symptoms starting from the 12th.
He underwent specimen tests four times in total on the 24th of last month, the 3rd, 10th, and 11th of this month, all of which returned negative results. However, the test result released at 7:30 p.m. on the 18th, after his death, confirmed he was positive.

Meanwhile, the nursing hospital where Mr. A was admitted is located in the same building as Cheongdo Daenam Hospital, where a cluster infection had previously occurred. So far, three people have died at this nursing hospital.
