Kolon Industry Labor-Management Negotiations Settled Without Dispute
[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] Kolon Industries announced on the 19th that labor and management have reached a consensus to overcome the crisis caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and have settled this year's wage and collective bargaining agreement (wage and collective agreement) without negotiations.
Representatives of labor and management at Kolon Industries first met on the 12th at the Gumi plant in Gyeongbuk to create a tentative agreement, followed by a union member approval vote from the 16th to 17th, and finalized the agreement the day before.
Due to the impact of COVID-19, the '2020 Wage and Collective Agreement Signing Ceremony' was held via video conference with CEO Jang Hee-gu and Union Chairman Kim Yeon-sang participating.
In particular, in this wage and collective agreement, labor and management agreed to cooperate to support local communities and small business owners who are struggling due to the COVID-19 situation.
Accordingly, the approximately 1 billion KRW worth of anniversary gifts usually given annually to employees will be replaced this year with Onnuri gift certificates for traditional markets.
