[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] The pro-government proportional representation party platform led by the Democratic Party of Korea, 'Simineul Wihayeo' (For the Citizens), has changed its party name to 'Deobureo Simindang' (Together Citizens Party) and has begun full-scale candidate nomination work.
On the 18th, Woo Hee-jong and Choi Bae-geun, co-representatives of Simineul Wihayeo, held a press conference at the National Assembly Press Hall and announced, "On the 17th, we signed a proportional representation coalition party agreement with Gaja Environment Party, Basic Income Party, Sidae Jeonhwan (Transition Era), Peace and Human Rights Party, and the Democratic Party of Korea," adding, "We decided to name the party 'Deobureo Simindang'."
They stated, "If the Justice Party does not join, the seats that may become available will be an opportunity to reflect the capabilities and voices of civil society, which have not been fully represented by existing parties, and to contribute to the expansion of civil society," adding, "Starting today, we will accept citizen recommendations."
They continued, "To strictly and professionally review and select the recommended reform figures, we will invite several separate candidate screening committee members."
