[Special Stock] BrainContents Produces Masks Using Cleanroom... Preparing for Overseas Exports
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Brain Contents is soaring. The news that it will establish the largest mask production factory in Korea to solve the mask supply shortage caused by the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) appears to have influenced the stock price.
As of 1:58 PM on the 18th, Brain Contents recorded 600 won, up 22.20% (109 won) compared to the previous trading day.
Brain Contents plans to convert its factory in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, with a total floor area of 3,900 pyeong, into a mask production factory. The Pyeongtaek factory is equipped with a cleanroom of 2,028 pyeong, making it highly suitable for use as a mask factory, the company explained.
A company official stated, “We plan to first introduce about 10 'automatic 3D mask machines' at the Pyeongtaek factory and start full-scale production of up to 600,000 masks per day and up to 15 million masks per month around the end of May.”
He added, “If the entire Pyeongtaek factory is utilized, it is expected to produce more than 3 million masks per day, and the cleanroom space can stockpile more than 100 million masks.”
