'Giseongyong Soksok' Mallorca Suspends Team Training Due to COVID-19
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Ki Sung-yueng's team, Spanish professional football club Mallorca in La Liga, has suspended team training to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
On the 17th (Korean time), Mallorca announced on their official website, "Team training is canceled as a measure to prevent COVID-19 infection."
Following the Spanish government's declaration of a national state of emergency and movement restrictions on the 15th, Mallorca also decided to forgo team training.
Mallorca's medical team leader Gustavo Lucas said, "Our players are in good health. Players in self-quarantine measure and report their body temperature daily."
The club encouraged quarantined players to conduct individual training at home.
Physical coach Dani Pastor explained, "We distributed a special training program that can be done at home," adding, "Players should prioritize their health by staying at home."
