The Election Commission Confirms 58 Re-Election and By-Election Districts Including Anseong Mayor

The National Election Commission announced on the 17th that "the constituencies for the by-elections held simultaneously with the 21st National Assembly election have been finalized at 58 locations." These are areas where the reasons for holding elections, such as invalidation of election or resignation, were confirmed from March 5 last year to the 16th of this month.
Among them, the by-elections for heads of basic local governments will be held in Busan Jung-gu, Anseong-si, Goseong-gun, Hoengseong-gun, Cheonan-si, Jinan-gun, Hampyeong-gun, and Sangju-si. By-elections for metropolitan council members will be held in 17 constituencies including Busan Nam-gu 2nd district, and by-elections for basic council members will be held in 33 locations including Dongdaemun-gu A.

The Election Commission explained, "The schedule for the by-elections is the same as that of the National Assembly election," adding, "Candidate registration will be held from the 26th to the 27th, daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and full-scale election campaigning will begin on the 2nd of next month."
