10th Anniversary Musical 'Mama, Don't Cry' Confirmed to Open on the 27th

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The musical "Mama, Don’t Cry," which had postponed its opening due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), has confirmed its opening date as the 27th of this month.
Marking its 10th anniversary since its premiere earlier this year, "Mama, Don’t Cry" was originally scheduled to open on February 28 at the Doosan Art Center Yeon-gang Hall. However, the opening was delayed by about a month due to the COVID-19 situation. The closing date remains as originally planned on May 17.
"Mama, Don’t Cry" is a two-person play featuring Professor V and Count Dracula. Professor V is a renowned professor who has been mentioned as a Nobel Prize candidate. However, to win the heart of the woman he loves, he chooses the life of a vampire through a devil’s bargain with Count Dracula.
Since its premiere in 2010, "Mama, Don’t Cry" has been performed in 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2018, making this the sixth season.
Song Yong-jin, Heo Gyu, Song Yoo-taek, and Choi Min-woo will appear as Professor V.
Heo Gyu, who has appeared since the premiere, is approaching a record of 150 performances. He currently holds the highest record with 148 performances. Song Yong-jin, who has appeared since 2013, is close to reaching 120 performances with 117 shows. Song Yoo-taek first joined during the 2018 performance, and Choi Min-woo is appearing on the "Mama, Don’t Cry" stage for the first time this season.
Count Dracula will be played by Go Young-bin, Go Hoon-jung, Lee Chung-joo, Noh Yoon, Park Young-soo, Kim Chan-ho, Jang Ji-hoo, and Lee Seung-heon.

Go Young-bin has performed 99 times so far and will reach his 100th performance on the first show of this season on the 28th. Lee Chung-joo has also been steadily appearing since the 2015 performance.
