President Moon meets Mayor Park Won-soon and Governor Lee Jae-myung to seek solutions for 'COVID-19'
Metropolitan Area Leaders Hold COVID-19 Metropolitan Quarantine Measures Meeting... Ministers of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Ministry of Health and Welfare Also Participate
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] President Moon Jae-in met with Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon, Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myung, and Incheon Mayor Park Nam-chun to seek countermeasures regarding the 'COVID-19' metropolitan area quarantine measures.
On the afternoon of the 16th, President Moon presided over the 'COVID-19 Metropolitan Area Quarantine Measures Meeting' attended by Minister of the Interior and Safety Jin Young, Minister of Health and Welfare Park Neung-hoo, Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon, Incheon Mayor Park Nam-chun, and Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myung.
The Blue House explained, "This meeting was convened to discuss quarantine measures with key metropolitan area leaders in light of the recent increase in COVID-19 infection cases centered around multi-use facilities such as the call center in Guro-gu, Seoul."
The meeting began with Minister Park Neung-hoo's 'COVID-19 Quarantine Measures Situation Report,' followed by 'Local Government Quarantine Measures Situation Reports' from the Mayor of Seoul, Mayor of Incheon, and Governor of Gyeonggi Province. Afterwards, a discussion on strengthening metropolitan area quarantine measures took place.
The Blue House stated, "During the meeting, measures such as establishing a consultative body for rapid information sharing and joint response between the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters and the disaster and safety countermeasures headquarters of Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi, as well as joint epidemiological investigations and information sharing, were discussed to strengthen metropolitan area quarantine management."
Additionally, countermeasures to prevent cluster infections in multi-use facilities and plans to strengthen quarantine measures for the metropolitan area wide transportation network, which shares public transportation and living areas, were also discussed.
