SK Telecom to Close Daegu Area Customer Center by End of March
[Asia Economy Reporter Seolgina Jo] SK Telecom will close its customer centers operating in Daegu Metropolitan City from the 16th until the end of this month due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
On the same day, SK Telecom stated, "To actively cooperate with the recommendations of the Daegu City health authorities and the government's 'untact' (contactless) policy measures, we have decided to temporarily suspend operations of two customer centers located in the Daegu area until the 31st." This decision comes amid growing concerns for the safety of customer center counselors as COVID-19 cases have rapidly increased, especially in call centers.
Currently, about 170 employees, approximately 50% of the counseling staff, are working from home. SK Telecom explained, "We are implementing various measures to minimize customer inconvenience."

On the same day, LG Uplus also announced the closure of its customer centers operating in Daegu City until the 31st. Employees at the Daegu customer centers will complete pre-scheduled tasks in the morning and begin working from home sequentially starting in the afternoon.
