Recruitment for 9 Blockchain Technology Verification Support Projects... Total Support of 3.9 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] The Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) announced on the 16th that they will recruit target companies for the 'Blockchain Technology Verification (PoC) Support Project' until the 6th of next month to foster creative blockchain specialized companies.
This project supports preliminary verification of creative service models of blockchain companies to resolve technological uncertainties across the early-stage blockchain industry and expand the possibility of commercial services. It was first implemented in 2019, supporting 11 companies.
This year, about nine companies will be selected through an open competition, with up to 450 million KRW per project and a total support budget of 3.9 billion KRW. The selection criteria include ▲business objectives and understanding ▲excellence and feasibility of business execution capabilities ▲specificity and feasibility of technology verification ▲expected effects ▲job creation, among others.
NIPA provides selected companies with costs for technology verification related to blockchain service model planning, prototype design and implementation, and the technical feasibility, stability, and security of pilot systems.
The 11 companies selected last year recorded achievements such as five patent applications, nine copyright registrations, three memorandums of understanding (MOUs), and two investment acquisitions through project execution. Digital Zone, which guarantees reliability through blockchain technology verification support projects for job seekers' qualification certification, plans to officially open its service via a job portal in April.

The PoC support project will serve as a catalyst to discover various blockchain cases and commercialize creative blockchain services.”
