SKT 'Jump AR' Open Gallery Becomes Children's 'AR Playground'
[Asia Economy Reporter Joesulgina] SK Telecom's newly launched 'Jump AR' Open Gallery is gaining popularity as a virtual playground for children who cannot go outside due to the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
SK Telecom announced on the 12th that about 3,000 photos have been uploaded within two weeks since the release of the 'AR Open Gallery' service, which allows users to view and enjoy AR-based animal photos together with others.
The AR Open Gallery is a newly added feature within the existing 'Jump AR' application, where users can upload and share AR-based animal photos and videos they have taken. Users can 'like' photos and videos they like, view other people's content, and easily share it with friends.
In particular, children staying at home due to COVID-19 are adding more fun by uploading interesting and creative photos featuring cute AR animals such as lesser pandas, alpacas, and Welsh Corgis as backgrounds.
Among the photos shared in the Open Gallery, many show children playing with AR animals inside their homes or capturing images or videos of AR animals with props such as living rooms, blankets, and dining tables as backgrounds.
'Jump AR' also added a section delivering news about the AR zoo and features like the animal popularity vote called 'Jump Battle' to allow users to enjoy the AR zoo more entertainingly.
