Daegu Confirmed Cases Increase by 92 to 5,663
[Daegu·Gyeongbuk=Asia Economy Reporter Mun Je-won] Although the increase in confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) is slowing down, four additional deaths occurred in Daegu on this day, resulting in a continuous rise in fatalities. The total number of deaths in the country has increased to 58.
According to Daegu City on the 10th, at around 1:22 a.m., a COVID-19 confirmed patient A (71) passed away at Fatima Hospital.
Patient A visited the hospital's respiratory clinic on the 5th with symptoms such as fever and cough, underwent a COVID-19 test, and was confirmed positive the next day, after which he was admitted to the intensive care unit.
It was found that he had chronic bronchitis as an underlying condition.
Also, at around 9:35 p.m. the previous day, patient B (59, female) died at Yeungnam University Hospital.
She was confirmed positive after a COVID-19 test at Busan Yeonje-gu Public Health Center on the 22nd of last month. She later experienced shortness of breath and coughing, visited Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital, and was transferred to Yeungnam University Hospital due to worsening respiratory distress.
Patient B was found to have no underlying diseases.
On the same day at around 8:25 p.m., patient C (76, female) died at Kyungpook National University Hospital. She was confirmed positive on the 2nd and was hospitalized in an isolation ward for treatment before passing away. It was found that she had diabetes as an underlying condition.
At around 10:49 a.m. on this day, patient D (62) died at Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital.
He had undergone a COVID-19 test at Buk-gu Public Health Center on the 7th due to cough and fever but tested negative.
Two days later, he was transported to Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital due to cardiac arrest but died, and was later confirmed positive through testing.
Patient D had no underlying diseases but was known to have lung damage from a traffic accident 20 years ago.
Meanwhile, according to the city, as of midnight on this day, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Daegu increased by 92 from the previous day to 5,663.
