Sejong Reports 2 Additional COVID-19 Cases Including Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Officials, Total Now 10 in Region

[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Sejong. Among them, one is confirmed to be a public official affiliated with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. The total number of confirmed cases in the region is now 10.

According to Sejong City on the 10th, two men in their 50s were newly confirmed positive for COVID-19 on this day. The 9th confirmed case resides in Hansol-dong, and the 10th confirmed case lives in Banggok-dong.

In particular, the 10th confirmed case is confirmed to be the husband of a violin academy student (#7).

Previously, on the 22nd of last month, a man in his 30s (Shincheonji member) who came up from Daegu and participated in apartment repair work in the Sejong area was the first confirmed COVID-19 case in the region.

Then, on the 6th, a Zumba dance instructor (#2) was confirmed positive for COVID-19, showing signs of community infection spread. The structure of the spread involves the Zumba dance instructor, students, and contacts of the students.

An example is the additional confirmed case of the husband (#10) of the violin instructor (#4), who was a student of the Zumba dance instructor.

The list of additional confirmed cases on this day also included a public official affiliated with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. Accordingly, health authorities temporarily closed the 4th floor of Building 5 at the Sejong Government Complex where the confirmed case worked and disinfected the area. With this official’s confirmation, a total of four confirmed cases have been reported at the Sejong Government Complex (Ministry of Personnel Management, Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries).
