Gangnam-gu and Army Security Command Collaborate for COVID-19 Prevention Measures
Disinfection Around Vulnerable Residential Areas and Multi-Use Facilities Including Guryong and Dalteo Villages Until COVID-19 Subsides
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) has been conducting daily disinfection of major areas within the district, including multi-use facilities, in collaboration with the Army Capital Defense Command since the 3rd.
The district is focusing disinfection efforts on vulnerable residential areas, as well as areas densely populated by foreign tourists and the general public, such as Gangnam Station, nearby subway stations, and Garosugil, together with 10 personnel supported by the Capital Defense Command until the COVID-19 situation stabilizes.
The district provides transportation for personnel and disinfection supplies.
Previously, to alleviate residents' anxiety and block the virus, the district disinfected major areas starting with vulnerable communities such as Guryong, Dalteo, Sujeong, and Jaegun villages, as well as both sidewalks along Teheran-ro from Samseong Station to Gangnam Station.

Kim Seok-rae, Director of Disaster Safety Division, stated, “Places and businesses included in the movement paths of confirmed COVID-19 cases have been immediately disinfected by the public health center’s professional disinfection team, so residents can rest assured,” and added, “We will continue to collaborate with related local organizations to make Gangnam-gu safe from COVID-19.”
