Gwanak-gu's '2020 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign' Raises Record High Donations!
2020 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign Exceeds 2 Billion KRW Goal... Warm Support Continues from Companies like Tandy, Organizations, and Individual Donors
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Despite the spread of COVID-19 and the worst economic recession, the warm-hearted support of Gwanak-gu residents remained strong.
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) announced that it exceeded its target of 2 billion KRW in the '2020 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign,' heating up the Love Temperature to 100℃.
As a result of active participation by residents in the '2020 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign' conducted since November last year, the district raised a total of 2.153 billion KRW, including 1.044 billion KRW in donations and 1.109 billion KRW in goods, achieving the highest fundraising amount ever.
This valuable achievement was made possible by the participation of many companies and support from organizations and individuals, despite the absence of major donors and corporations compared to other local governments.
Companies such as Tandy, Yeong-eun Power, Dongbang Agro, Sein Together, and Neo Environment donated funds, and continuous donations were made this year as well through the Vitamin Scholarship Foundation and the Love Sharing Support Association. Individual donors also extended support comparable to this.
In particular, 1,093 Gwanak-gu public officials, who have promoted the 'Hope Neulsarang Practice Movement Employee Sponsorship Project' since 2005, donated monthly, collecting 100 million KRW, which was donated to the Seoul Community Chest of Korea, drawing attention.
A total of 11,554 cases of donations were delivered during this fundraising activity, supporting about 25,300 people (places) including low-income families and social welfare facilities (institutions).
Goods were delivered to elderly living alone, disabled persons, and single-parent families, while donations are planned to be used year-round for living expenses, medical expenses, education expenses, and heating costs for neighbors in need. Currently, 40.214 million KRW has been donated to 2,901 people.
