Health Authorities Focus on Tracing Infection Route and Contacts
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] A man in his 50s living in Bongseon-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju, who tested ‘positive’ in the first COVID-19 test and was in a ‘borderline’ state of positive and negative in the second test, has been confirmed positive after the third test.
With this, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Gwangju area has increased to 13.
According to health authorities on the 4th, Mr. A (57) was confirmed positive in the third COVID-19 test conducted simultaneously by the Health and Environment Research Institute and Chonnam National University Hospital. He is currently receiving treatment at Bitgoeul Chonnam National University Hospital.
His wife and son, who live with Mr. A, tested negative, and three of his coworkers are undergoing testing.
Places Mr. A visited, including Good Morning Internal Medicine Clinic, Hagun-dong Administrative Welfare Center, and the management office of Samik Ceramic Apartments in Hak-dong, have been disinfected and temporarily closed.
The problem is that the timing for the epidemiological investigation by health authorities is ambiguous.
Mr. A is known to have no connection with Shincheonji, Daegu, overseas travel, or Yangnim Church in Nam-gu.
