Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education Expands Free High School Education
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education plans to further expand free high school education this year to realize "warm and equal educational welfare."
According to the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education on the 4th, a total budget of 53.2 billion KRW has been allocated for free education for all high school grades this year. Following last year, tuition fees and school operation support expenses will continue to be supported, and from this year, textbook fees will also be additionally supported.
Families with high school students in Jeonnam can receive an education cost reduction of up to 1.48 million KRW per child annually.
In particular, it is expected that working-class families such as self-employed individuals, small business owners, and low-income small and medium-sized enterprise households, who were previously in the blind spots of universal educational welfare, will be able to receive practical benefits.
